87 Million Americans snore, so you are not alone, however, you could be in danger. 40 million Americans are chronic sufferers of sleep disorders, but only 10% have been treated or diagnosed. Snoring occurs when the airway or passage through which you breathe becomes partially blocked. This happens when your tongue falls back as you drift off into deeper sleep. In many cases, snoring is minor and your body continues to get adequate amounts of oxygen, causing little or no harm, although your bed partner my disagree. After an initial consultation and evaluating your symptoms we would refer you to a sleep center for a sleep study. If you are a candidate, we would then fabricate a custom intraoral sleep appliance . This appliance consists of upper and lower dental plates with a unique patented fin-coupling component, allowing you to open and close your mouth. Compared to the CPAP machine, the intraoral sleep appliance travels well, is free from attachments, makes no noise, does not require electricity, does not limit sleep positions and does not require any cumbersome head gear.
